Sierra Wireless and Agnik to jointly market vehicle tracking and diagnostics solution

Collaboration will enable the delivery of a cutting edge fleet management solution powered by MineFleet predictive vehicle data mining technology
Columbia (Maryland, US) and Vancouver (Canada)-April 15, 2008

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) and Agnik today announced an agreement to jointly market Agnik’s MineFleet® predictive vehicle data mining system along with the line of AirLink™ vehicle tracking solutions offered by Sierra Wireless.

MineFleet is a powerful data stream mining software product for both short and long-term modeling, benchmarking, monitoring and optimization of vehicle health, driver behavior, and fuel consumption. MineFleet’s unique data stream mining technology allows for advanced onboard vehicle analysis, which optimizes costs by reducing the amount of data sent over the wireless network.

The Sierra Wireless line of AirLink products, powered by ALEOS™ embedded intelligence, offers a wide range of stand-alone wireless modems for Mobile and M2M solutions. For over a decade, the AirLink line of products has served the public safety, utilities, transportation, infrastructure and financial sectors. With the addition of the advanced predictive vehicle data mining capabilities of MineFleet, Sierra Wireless and Agnik will be able to offer customers a robust in-vehicle solution that integrates elegantly with many fleet management applications.

“We’re very excited about the prospect of bringing Agnik’s MineFleet technology to our customers. The combination of the MineFleet predictive analysis and our ALEOS powered devices brings a unique solution to the in-vehicle data market,” said Andy Berman, senior vice president and general manager of the Sierra Wireless Mobile and M2M group. “By giving fleet administrators the power to communicate with, locate and analyze their entire fleet from a single location, the combined solution provides customers with an effective tool to minimize downtime and manage their mobile assets more efficiently.”

“Sierra Wireless offers one of the strongest lines of wireless communication and vehicle tracking devices in the industry. By combining the AirLink line of intelligent modems with the MineFleet predictive vehicle data mining technology, we are opening up the door for a new generation of powerful products to better understand the status of a fleet and optimize its operating costs,” said Dr. Hillol Kargupta, Agnik’s President.
