debitel chooses new Sierra Wireless HSDPA card for mobile broadband service in Germany

SURF@go 875 offers higher data speeds, improved antenna design, and high-speed roaming worldwide, making it the ideal choice for international travelers
Vancouver, Canada and Stuttgart, Germany -March 15, 2007

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) and debitel, one of the largest mobile service providers in Germany, today announced that debitel has added the newest Sierra Wireless HSDPA datacard to its product lineup. The debitel SURF@go 875 PC card (manufactured by Sierra Wireless and also known as the Sierra Wireless AirCard® 875) will be available in late April through debitel’s business sales channels and retail locations throughout Germany.

The debitel SURF@go 875 offers faster download speeds and better high-speed roaming capability than the SURF@go 850 card, which was launched by debitel last year. With tri-band UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM connectivity, the SURF@go 875 offers roaming on available high-speed networks worldwide. Peak download speeds are increased from 1.8 Mbps on the SURF@go 850 to 3.6 Mbps on the SURF@go 875 card, with the potential for a future upgrade that boosts peak speeds up to 7.2 Mbps*.

“Mobile broadband technology is evolving very quickly, and we are committed to providing customers with the latest in speed and functionality,” said Martin Witt, Head of Products and Innovations for debitel. “Working with Sierra Wireless allows us to migrate quickly to newer, faster technology without compromising on reliability or the user experience.”

“We are pleased to continue our cooperation with debitel to provide high-quality mobile broadband datacards to customers in Germany,” said Jim Lahey, Vice President, EMEA for Sierra Wireless. “The new card offers mobile broadband customers improved data speeds and expanded high-speed roaming capabilities, making it the best choice for those who rely on fast access to online information to stay connected and competitive.”

debitel will demonstrate the new SURF@go 875 at CeBIT (Hall 26, Stand E 25 A), held in Hannover, Germany from March 15 to 21.
