Media Advisory: Sierra Wireless presents what’s next in wireless data at 3GSM World Congress

Demonstrations of newest products feature fast uploads, fixed wireless, and GPS applications
3GSM World Congress, Barcelona, Spain -February 12, 2007

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced the company, in collaboration with other wireless industry leaders, will demonstrate next-generation wireless products for HSPA networks at 3GSM World Congress, beginning today and continuing to February 15 in Barcelona, Spain.

High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA)
Sierra Wireless, in collaboration with Ericsson and Telefónica Móviles España, will engage in live, over-the-air demonstrations of HSUPA technology, utilizing a prototype of the newly unveiled Sierra Wireless AirCard® 880 wireless wide area network card for HSUPA networks. Demonstrations will take place in Telefónica’s stand, located at 8B-178, and in Ericsson’s stand in Hall 8.

In addition to the over-the-air demonstrations, Sierra Wireless is collaborating with Rohde & Schwarz, a leading supplier in the field of electronics testing and measurement, to showcase the AirCard 880 card operating with the Rohde & Schwarz CRTU-W protocol tester in both the Sierra Wireless Pavilion (AV99) and the Rohde & Schwarz booth (Hall 1, Booth 1A45).

Also in the Sierra Wireless Pavilion, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is showing a new LIFEBOOK supporting HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 1.4 Mbps technologies, with an integrated Sierra Wireless MC8780 embedded module. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will be showing a product supporting this new standard for the first time at 3GSM. The LIFEBOOK on display, which will be launched officially in early March 2007, is also equipped with embedded UMTS and an integrated ConfCamera.

GPS and Location Based Services
The Sierra Wireless MP 875 rugged wireless modem for HSDPA networks, installed in a car, will be tracked from the Sierra Wireless Pavilion as it moves around Barcelona.

The integrated Global Positioning System capability in the MP 875 modem, combined with Sierra Wireless’s own MP Modem Manager software and a web-based mapping application, enables real-time location monitoring for vertical applications such as law enforcement, security, and fleet management.

The monitoring terminal in the pavilion is connected through the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U USB modem, the first live demonstration of this new addition to the AirCard product line.

Sierra Wireless embedded modules and OEMs
Sierra Wireless will showcase a selection of products manufactured by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with mobile broadband connectivity supplied by Sierra Wireless PCI Express Mini Card embedded modules. These devices cover a broad spectrum of applications, from notebook PCs to fixed wireless terminals and routers.

Included in this display is a demonstration of the Ericsson W25 fixed wireless terminal with the integrated Sierra Wireless MC8775V embedded module. The Ericsson W25 provides an alternative to fixed-broadband services for small office, home office, or temporary office customers, providing high-speed data, voice, and fax services.
