Sierra Wireless announces Senior Management additions and changes

Vancouver, Canada-May 01, 2006

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) is pleased to announce new appointments and changes to the company’s management team. Mr. Richard Winters has joined the company in the newly created position of Vice President, Supply Chain, and Mr. Steve Burrington has been promoted to Vice President, Worldwide Systems Engineering.

In addition to the new appointments, the company has made changes to the roles of two other team members. Mr. Trent Punnett, previously Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development where he takes on additional responsibilities in business strategy and strategic partnerships. Mr. Jin Pak, Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific, now adds responsibility for sales to Central and Latin America to his role.

Mr. Winters is responsible for global supply chain strategy. He is an accomplished supply chain leader with more than 20 years of experience, including 10 years in the CDMA wireless industry. Before joining Sierra Wireless, Mr. Winters served as Vice President, Operations, for the CDMA Business Unit at Ericsson. In addition, he has held senior supply chain positions at Qualcomm and Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Winters holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from Regis University in Colorado. Mr. Winters reports to Bill Dodson, Senior Vice President of Operations.

Mr. Burrington is responsible for overseeing worldwide systems engineering and technical support, as well as carrier certifications for all CDMA products. He joined AirPrime (acquired by Sierra Wireless in 2003) as Director of Systems Engineering in 2000. Prior to that, he held roles in engineering and CDMA certification management for DENSO International America. Mr. Burrington reports to Dan Schieler, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
