Chinese Software Developers at Petroleum University of China to use Wavecom Open AT®

Wavecom SA (NASDAQ: WVCM; Euronext Eurolist: AVM; ISIN: FR0000073066), a leader in pre-packaged wireless communications solutions for automotive, industrial (machine-to-machine) and mobile professional applications, today announced that it has entered into a software developer partnership with the Petroleum University of China (PUC).

The goal of this partnership is to create synergy between Wavecom and graduates of the PUC by encouraging students to develop industrial embedded wireless communication applications -- specifically for metering and oil field monitoring systems using Wavecom's Open AT® software development environment.

Commenting on this agreement, Mr. Zhu Lianzhan, Vice-President of the Information and Computering College of the Petroleum University of China expressed enthusiasm about this joint activity, "Our students are some of the best in China and by giving them the opportunity to use their software development skills in new, emerging technologies, like wireless communication using Open AT® from Wavecom will give them a chance to gain specialized skills for the future." He added, "we believe that this collaboration with Wavecom, who is already a recognized leader in the wireless industry, will enhance the reputation of PUC both inside and outside of China."
