Issy-les-Moulineaux, France-February 10, 2003

Wavecom SA (Nasdaq: WVCM; Euronext Nouveau Marché: 7306) today unveiled its Wireless Open Workshop (WOW!), a complete suite of software, hardware, development tools and services – all in an environment that is both open and integrated. Wireless Open Workshop brings together all of Wavecom’s existing technology, service and market expertise in a unique offering, providing virtually unlimited design options and enabling customers to move from the drawing board to implementation in record time.

Wireless Open Workshop consists of a series of Development Labs tailored to the different needs of specific industry segments. Each Lab includes an unprecedented range of software options, from wireless communications standards and protocols to a unique catalog of market-specific interfaces, protocols and support for operating systems and peripherals. Furthermore, each Lab includes a choice of WISMO Platform hardware options (WISMO Quik, WISMO Pac and WISMO Flex), MUSE Platform development tools (Open AT and Open MMI), and a comprehensive set of services adapted to different customers and applications.

The initial Wireless Open Workshop release includes seven Development Labs: three for cellular handsets (Feature Phone, Compact Phone and Starter Phone) and four for data-centric applications (M2M,Automotive, Mobile Computing and PDA).

"For the first time, a wireless technology provider is offering the best of two worlds: design flexibility plus time-to-market. The Wireless Open Workshop includes the open software and hardware options needed to develop truly innovative applications as well as the building blocks and tools – including intellectual property rights – needed to bring them to market quickly and easily", explained Aram Hékimian, Chief Executive Officer of Wavecom.

"As wireless markets continue to mature, our customers need more freedom to innovate, to be able to compete by creating distinctive products. But innovation is only part of the story. Customers need the ability to respond to demand, as soon as new market requirements or opportunities appear", explained Hékimian. "Building upon six years of experience with our WISMO products, we have now designed a unique new approach. Wireless Open Workshop offers clients access to all the ingredients they need to design and bring innovative applications to market, with no need to hassle with any part of the basic wireless technology – be it hardware, software or the integration itself".

The three handset Development Labs, as well as the M2M and PDA Labs, will be available in the second quarter of 2003. The Automotive and Mobile Computing Developments Labs will be launched in the third quarter.
