Wavecom hires Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Subsidiary

Wavecom SA (Nasdaq: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: WAVECOM), a leading developer of digital wireless standard modules (WISMO™), today announced the appointment of Hany Neoman as Chief Operating Officer of Wavecom Inc., its U.S. subsidiary located in San Diego, California. Neoman will develop and manage Wavecom operations in North and South America, a market that holds great potential for the company.

Hany Neoman, a British national born in Cairo in 1962, graduated in Design Engineering from the University of Turin, Italy, in 1984 and earned an MBA from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, UK in 1988. He began his career with IBM in Italy and the UK before joining Intel's Business Communications Division as Head of Sales for Western Europe two years later. He was promoted to Marketing Manager for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in 1992. Neoman left Intel in 1994 to create NeoSystems Inc., a start up based in London and New York, specialized in modular digital applications. From 1997 until joining Wavecom, he was first a General Manager of the Southern European division, and then Marketing Vice President of Sterling Commerce, a world leader in e-business solutions integration.

Among Wavecom's recent successes in the United States are the signing of agreements with GPS world leader Trimble of Sunnyvale, CA, and with Handspring of Mountain View, CA, a leading innovator in the handheld computing industry.
