Wavecom demonstrates three product families at the GSM World Congress and CEBIT Exhibition

New generation of WISMO™ GSM Plug-In Module, External Modem and Integrated Modem offer optimum solutions for all applications.

Wavecom S.A. (NASDAQ: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: WAVECOM), the leading developer of digital Wireless Standard Modules (WISMO™), today announced it will demonstrate the latest versions of its dual-band GSM plug-in module, ultra-compact integrated modem and new dual-band external modem in the weeks ahead.

The WISMO2C plug-in module, WMOi3 integrated modem and new WMOD2B dual-band external modem will be demonstrated at the 2000 GSM World Congress, 1-4 February, in Cannes, France, booth D9, and at CeBIT 2000, 24 February to 1 March, in Hannover, Germany, in the French Pavilion, booth 15G36.

The WMOD2B is the latest addition to Wavecom's family of external modems. Small and lightweight, the WMOD2B is fully type approved for GSM Phase 2+ and is GPRS and WAP compatible. The WMOD2B handles voice, data, SMS and fax transmission and can be remotely controlled by AT commands for dedicated applications. The WMOD2B is mounted in a rugged aluminum body and is ready to use and connect.

The WISMO2C plug-in module is a compact, fully integrated device offering the full range of GSM Phase 2+ features. GPRS compatible, the ultra-compact WISMO2C is the best choice for applications where space is limited. The WMOi3 integrated modem handles data, voice, SMS and fax messages, and also is GPRS compatible. It features very low power consumption, a single standardized connector for power supply data, audio and SIM, and an advanced software platform. It is mounted in a heavy-duty metal housing.
