Sierra Wireless has selected the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X16 LTE modem for its next-generation EM/MC Series embedded modules. The Snapdragon X16 is the first commercially announced Gigabit Class LTE chipset designed to deliver fiber-like LTE Category 16 download speeds of up to ~1 Gbps. This high-speed functionality will provide our customers with the fastest access to global cellular networks for their device to cloud IoT deployments.

The EM and MC Series from Sierra Wireless offer unprecedented LTE speeds, bandwidth, and network performance on PCI Express Mini Card (MC Series) and M.2 (EM Series) form factors commonly used in networking equipment. The next-generation EM and MC series featuring X16 are expected to sample in 2017.
