When it comes to mission-critical applications, there is no room for compromise. The backbone of mission-critical communication lies in the reliable connectivity provided by rugged cellular routers. But not just any router can stand up to the task – only those designed, built and tested with a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach to ruggedness can truly deliver.
Durable Materials

Durable Materials

Die-cast aluminum enclosures

AirLink Pro routers are designed to withstand environmental stressors such as temperature changes and impacts common to outdoor and vehicle settings.

Their die-cast aluminum housing not only resists these stressors but also efficiently dissipates the thermal energy generated by high-performance 5G and LTE operations, preventing communication interruptions and ensuring longevity.

Shock and Vibration Resistance

Purpose-built for action in motion

AirLink Pro routers are purpose-built and certified for vehicle and rail usage*.

They are thoroughly tested to meet the stringent MIL-STD 810, SAE J1455, EN 50155 and EN 45545 standards*, allowing them to ensure reliable communications on the move.

Extreme Temperature Resistance

Tested to meet military-grade requirements

A router mounted in an enclosed space or inside of a vehicle can be exposed to the hottest summer days and the coldest winter nights. AirLink Pro routers are built to function reliably in extreme temperatures, featuring a wide operating range of up to -40 to +70 °C (-40 to +158 °F)*.

They are tested to meet the rigorous MIL-STD 810** requirements to ensure they can withstand sudden temperature changes but also maintain performance at these extremes.

Dust Protection

IP64 certified

AirLink Pro routers are IP64 certified, offering complete protection against harmful dust ingress.

This is essential for maintaining the integrity of the router’s internal components, especially in dusty or sandy environments like construction, mining sites or deserts.

Water Resistance

IP64 Certified

AirLink Pro routers are IP64* certified, ensuring resistance against water splashes from all directions.

Combined with a 95% relative humidity**, it allows you to keep your routers operational in damp and wet conditions.

**95% RH at 60°C

Intrinsic Safety

Class 1 Div 2 certified

Many AirLink Pro routers are C1D2* certified for safe operation in hazardous environments such as oil and gas for upstream, midstream and downstream operations.

Designed to minimize ignition risks, they function safely in environments where flammable vapors or gases are used in closed containers or closed systems.

*Class 1 Division 2 certification is given by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in the United States.

Extreme Voltage Protection

Stay connected through voltage fluctuations

Routers used in grid or vehicle operations can be exposed to extreme voltage variations that can disrupt communications or ultimately cause damage.

AirLink Pro routers feature a +200 VDC built-in overvoltage and load dump protection, allowing them to resist the severe spikes in voltage associated with loose or disconnected battery terminals.

They also feature built-in brownout protection and can work as low as 5-7VDC to prevent the router from rebooting when the voltage momentarily drops and ensuring continuous operation during voltage dips, such as startup voltages in vehicles.

Accelerated Life Testing

Built to last

In the world of rugged routers, durability and reliability are the main measure of success. That’s why our routers are subject to accelerated life testing, a rigorous process that simulates over seven years of wear and tear on the product.

These tests replicate the harsh conditions and high-stress scenarios the routers could potentially face over their lifespan, including extreme temperatures, vibrations and power fluctuations.
