Mishiko provides a Starter Solution for IoT Developers

Mishiko is an international team working on a range of Internet of Things (IoT) products based on their own IoT platform. The company has developed a universal IoT DevKit to launch new projects as well as a turnkey solution for third-party developers.

Business Challenge

Analyst firm IHS forecasts that the IoT market will grow to an installed base of 30.7 billion devices in 2020 and 75.4 billion in 2025. While many of today’s companies have expressed a requirement for IoT capabilities to improve their business model, the complexity of implementing IoT solutions has hindered forward progress. The sheer magnitude of existing protocols and standards across different devices makes connecting legacy systems and introducing next mobile devices a project that crosses the boundaries of IT and OT.

Mishiko is addressing this complexity by developing a universal IoT Development Kit, Mishiko DevKit, to launch its own in-house projects, as well as to provide as a starter solution for third-party IoT developers focused on wearables and other IoT applications. The Mishiko DevKit is a system-on-chip (SoC) solution integrating hardware and software into an application-ready platform. This allows third-party developers to launch a project without heavy upfront R&D time and expenses, lowering CAPEX and speeding time-to-market.

Sierra Wireless IoT Solution

Mishiko selected the Sierra Wireless HL Series Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) Modules to achieve both modem and GPS functionality in a single unit.
