Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced that Lenovo has selected the MC8755 PCI Express Mini Card embedded module for HSDPA/UMTS networks for integration into the ThinkPad T60 and X60 notebook computers for European markets. This follows recent successful collaborations between the two companies in integrating EV-DO connectivity into business notebooks for North American customers.

Mobile professionals with AirCard Enabled™ notebook computers can enjoy the productivity benefits provided by simple, convenient access to 3G networks, built right into their computers. Quick mobile access to the Internet, email (even with large attachments), and online corporate applications ensures that road warriors and business travelers can make the most efficient use of their time.

“Lenovo and Sierra Wireless have led the market in integrating EV-DO wireless wide area network connectivity into several business notebook platforms, and we are pleased to extend this collaboration into products for 3G networks in Europe,” said Dan Schieler, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Sierra Wireless. “As high speed networks become more widely available, we believe that mobile professionals will find integrated 3G connectivity to be a quick, convenient way to maximize their productive time while away from the office.”
