Issy-les-Moulineaux, France -June 13, 2001

Wavecom SA (Nasdaq: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: 7306), a leading developer of digital wireless standard modules (WISMO™), today announced that the wireless communication specialist REALVision Technology Limited has chosen Wavecom's WISMO technology for CarpeDiem V, its smart GSM communicator for Palm® V series handheld computers. An initial order has already been placed with Fargo Services (H. K.) Limited, Wavecom's reseller in Hong Kong.

The CarpeDiem V GSM Communicator is a wireless communication accessory designed for Palm V series handhelds. It snaps onto the handheld computer to form an integrated solution for wireless transmission of voice and data over the GSM 900/1800 network. Thanks to the WISMO2C module, CarpeDiem V provides users with voice capability as well as internet connectivity, email, web-clipping and SMS without having to connect through a standard wireline or mobile telephone.

Paul Ng, chief executive officer of REALVision explains: "With REALVision's advanced wireless enabling technology, we enable the convergence of the voice and data transmission capabilities in one communicator snap-on device by utilizing Wavecom's WISMO module for the world's best selling PDAs. The lightweight, compact WISMO2C module is ideally suited to CarpeDiem. What's more, the dual-band GSM mode allows users to access mobile communications services both in Europe and in Asia."

"The Palm platform is a driving force in the growth of the mobile Internet, and wireless connectivity is a priority for Palm," explains Tim Roper, Director of World Wide Access at Palm, Inc. "CarpeDiem V provides customers with wireless access to internet based information, e-mail and wireless applications, and allows people on the move to maximize the functionality and mobility of their Palm handhelds."

Jean-Charles Andreani, Managing Director of Wavecom Asia Pacific, said: "We're very pleased to provide REALVision with our technology and know-how, and hence to contribute to the development of handheld computers." He added: "We're convinced that this market has significant growth potential".
