Falcom GmbH Places Follow-on Order for 125,000 WISMO™ modules

German Company Continues to Choose WISMO™ Technology as Best Solution for Wireless Data Transmission Applications.

Wavecom S.A. (NASDAQ: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: WAVECOM), a leading developer of digital Wireless Standard Modules (WISMO™), today announced that FALCOM GmbH (formerly Funkanlagen) of Germany, an integrator of GSM products, has placed a follow-on order for WISMO™ modules, bringing the total number of WISMO2C modules ordered so far to 225,000.

The order from FALCOM GmbH is for WISMO2C, Wavecom's second-generation dual-band module that offers a completely integrated solution providing all GSM Phase 2+ functions. The company placed an initial order for 100,000 WISMO2C modules in March 2000.

A Wavecom customer since 1997, FALCOM GmbH produces and distributes certified radio communication systems for specialized applications like fleet management, telemetry and mobile Internet devices. The company is headquartered in Langewiesen near Erfurt, Germany, and had annual revenues of Euro 21.5 million in 2000. FALCOM GmbH was created in January 2001 from Funkanlagen Leipoldt OHG and has taken on all business activities. Furthermore, a production and development company was founded in Malta called FAL MALTA Ltd. This company will contribute to the enormous growth of the group.
