Wavecom Hires Corporate Sales and Marketing Director

Wavecom S.A. (NASDAQ: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: WAVECOM), a leading developer of digital wireless standard modules (WISMO™), today announced it has named Eric Fortems as Corporate Sales and Marketing Director.

Eric Fortems' mission will be to define, implement and coordinate Wavecom's marketing and sales strategy in three geographic areas: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Asia-Pacific (APAC); and the Americas. Eric Fortems will also be in charge of reinforcing Wavecom's distribution network and developing international sales.

Eric Fortems, 40, holds a Master's degree in engineering from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, a prestigious French business school near Paris.

Eric Fortems started his professional career as a systems engineer at International Robomation Intelligence in California before being appointed project manager for microelectronic equipment at Hughes Aircraft, California. He then joined Scientific Atlanta as European Sales and Marketing Manager.

During six years at Valeo Electronics, a global automotive components supplier, Eric Fortems held various positions in the company's electronics branch. He was director of sales and marketing in Paris before setting up the Valeo Electronics subsidiary in Detroit as Director of North American Operations.

This appointment confirms Wavecom's goal to develop solutions adapted to each of its four targeted markets-telephony, automotive, multimedia, and telemetry-and to ensure the coherence of its commercial policy at the international level.
