Introduction:WirelessExpert is a setup wizard that helps you install and configure your Sierra Wireless modem for cellular wireless networks using simple step-by-step procedures. WirelessExpert performs diagnostics and offers online context sensitive help screens if you experience a problem or need questions answered.
WirelessExpert lets you configure your wireless modem for both Circuit Switched Cellular (CSC) and Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) networks. WirelessExpert also helps you configure your PC for access to the Internet, for example, Dial-up Networking, RAS, TCP/IP communications protocol stack, modem profiles, and so on. Once installed, you can use Toolkit for modifying and WirelessExpert for testing any configuration parameters.
WirelessExpert provides a high-level of confidence that your modem is configured to operate properly with the cellular network.
Watcher 4.2.2 contains CDPD Watcher, CSC Watcher, WirelessExpert and Toolkit, 32-bit programs that work with Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Professional. See Table below to find out which Windows OS is supported for modems.

System Requirements:Watcher 4.2.2 will work for PCs operating with Microsoft Windows 95 OS R2, Win 98 SE, Win NT 4.0 SP4 or greater and Win 2000 Professional.

Requires Window 95 OS Release 2.
Windows 98
There are no special system requirements for Windows 98 (Second Edition recommended).
Windows 2000 Professional
There are no special system requirements for Windows 2000 Professional.
Windows NT 4.0
This version of WirelessExpert and Watcher has been tested with PCs using Windows NT 4.0 as a Workstation or Server. It has also been tested with NT Service Packs 4 or greater. It will NOT operate correctly with Service Pack 2.

Installation Procedures:This software is partitioned into three distinct sections:
- Part one - Setup step that copies all the relevent files onto your hard disk drive. This should only need to be done once. This part is identified as Watcher Setup.
- Part two - configuration and verification stage. Part two is WirelessExpert and should be run until the "Done!" screen is reached. WirelessExpert usually runs automatically after part one. To start it manually, select Start | Programs | Sierra Wireless Watcher | WirelessExpert.
- Part three - the mode selector and status indicator stage. This is handled by Watcher, but can be manually started by selecting Start | Programs | Sierra Wireless Watcher | CDPD Watcher for CDPD Watcher or Start | Programs | Sierra Wireless Watcher | CSC Watcher for CSC Watcher.
(1) Click on the Start button and select Run c:\cdpdwatcher_r422.exe
(2) The setup program guides you through the steps to install Wireless Expert and Watcher onto your hard disk. You may be prompted to install components from the Windows 95 or NT 4.0 CD-ROM (if your PC does not already contain them).
(3) When the setup is complete, you may be prompted to restart your computer. After reset, WirelessExpert starts automatically until your modem is configured or you quit the Wizard.
(4) When you exit WirelessExpert, start Watcher to select a mode of operation: wireline, CSC or CDPD.
