AirCard 300 Updating drivers in Windows 2000

Resolution:

To update the AirCard 300 driver in Windows 2000 use the following steps.

1. Start the machine with the card in.
2. Highlight My Computer and right mouse click on it. Select Properties.
3. Click on the Hardware tab and click on the Device Manager button.
4. Scroll down the list of devices to the Network Adapters section. Click on the + sign and proceed to Step 5. If the device is not in Network Adapters check for an Other Devices section and click on the + sign.
5. Right click the Sierra Wireless AirCard 300 CDPD and select Properties
6. Click on the Driver Tab.
7. Select "update driver".
8. Select Next from Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard.
9. Select Display a list on known and drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver. Click on Next.
10. A window labeled Select Network Adapter will open. Select Have Disk and click on Browse. Select the \AC300_NB_R120\Win2k directory and click on netac300ac.inf.(This directory can be found in the folder created during unzip of AC300_NB_R120.exe.)
11. Click Next to Start Device Driver Installation
12. Click Yes to continue installation when Digital Signature Not Found screen is presented.
13. Click Finish to complete Upgrade Device Driver Wizard.
14. You should now see a screen indicating that the Driver version is 1.2.0.1. This means the driver update was successful.
