AirCard 300: Wireless Expert Cannot Communicate With Modem on PPC 2002

Symptoms

When trying to access the Sierra Wireless AirCard Wireless Expert on the iPAQ Pocket PC 2002. The message, "Cannot Communicate with Modem" may appear.

Resolution

In the Pocket PC 2002 environment users have the ability to use the "X" (in the top right-hand corner) to place a program/ task into the background. This feature, which was not apparent in the earlier versions of the Pocket PC Operating System, may cause the above mentioned error to occur. 

1) Select ok to the Error message dialogue box.
2) Select the "X" (in the top right-hand corner) of the online Help that appears after closing the Error message.
3) Exit the AirCard WirelessExpert (select the "X" in the top right-hand corner)
4) Go to: Start -> Programs then execute (single tap) Watcher for AC300
5) In the AirCard Watcher program select the Disconnect button in the bottom right-hand corner.
6) Exit the AirCard Watcher (select the "X" in the top right-hand corner).
7) Go to: Start -> Programs then execute (single tap) WirelessExpert for AC300.
