Symptoms

• This resolution covers only Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC Installations under Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000.
• Running the Install Shield fails to remove the Pocket PC program. Usually caused when programs are removed without using the Un-Install Shield and by deleting program files.

Resolution

Run REGEDIT(Start>Run, type in "regedit" and click OK)

1. Remove registry entry:
HKEY_Local_MAchine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{6E11A400-3E82-11D5-9E8D-0050DA701DC9}
Note: You may have to browse each {xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx} registry key and determine which belongs to the AirCard 300/400 (based on the displayed name) before deleting it.

2. Remove *.cab, license.rft and readme.txt files under c:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Sierra Wireless AirCard 300/400 directory (where C:\ is your primary hard drive).

Exit REGEDIT. Go to the control panel (Start>Settings>Control panel) and click on the "Add and remove programs" icon. Confirm that the SW program is no longer installed.

Re-install the Watcher software if necessary.
