Compaq iPAQ ROM 1.69 Issues

Symptoms

For iPAQs with ROM 1.69, symptoms are varied, inconsistent and often times intermittent. When the card is inserted, it is not recognized. A message displays "Unrecognized Card - Unknown Video Card "Upon launching Watcher , the Aircard may not be found.

**Note: When installing the Aircard on a Compaq iPAQ, perform the steps below in order to avoid any potential problems in the future.

Resolution

To confirm if you have ROM 1.69:

1. Go to Start>Settings .

2. Click on the System tab .

3. Double click on Asset View .

4. Click on the "+" beside Version .

5. If ROM Revision is displayed as 1.69 ENG, proceed to Step #6.
