No red light Appears on the Card, and No Connection can be made.

Resolution

Windows has not installed the card properly. The card was installed before the correct drivers were loaded.

Look at the System Properties. (This can be done either by right clicking on the "My Computer" icon and selecting "Properties" from the pop up menu, or by going to the Control Panel (Start>Settings>Control Panel) and selecting the " System " icon)

In Windows 95/98:
  1. In System properties, click on the "Device Manager " tab
  2. Click on the small icon labeled "Other Devices ". It has a Question mark as an icon.
  3. Check to see whether the Sierra Wireless Aircard appears under this icon.
  4. If it does, click on it, then click on the "Remove".
In Windows 2000:
  1. In System Properties, click on the "Hardware" tab and then click on the "Device Manager " Tab.
  2. Click on the small icon labeled "Other Devices ". It has a Question mark as an icon.
  3. Check to see whether the Sierra Wireless Aircard appears under this icon.
  4. If it does, right click on it, and select "Uninstall".
Then:
  1. Once the card has been uninstalled from the device manager, eject the Sierra Wireless card physically from the PCMCIA slot in the laptop. There should be a small button located next to the card to enable you to do this.
  2. Re-insert the card into the Laptop, and allow Windows Plug and Play Device Manager to Detect the Card and install the correct drivers.
To confirm the re-installation has been successful, go to the Device Manager, and ensure that the Sierra Wireless card is no longer under "Other Devices", but is now under "Network Adapters ".
