Installation Steps

STEP 1 - Ensure that your Laptop is AirCard 510 Ready

In order to proceed to Step 2, your laptop must have the Watcher software already loaded. If you need Watcher for notebooks, please Click here.

If you have downloaded and installed the latest Watcher version (R 1.2.8) onto your laptop, you can skip Step 2, as there is a firmware upgrade utility within this software version that will automatically make your AirCard 510 Pocket PC ready.

STEP 2 - Firmware 1.34 is Required

You must upgrade your Sierra Wireless AirCard 510 to firmware 1.3.4 in order to use it with your Pocket PC. To upgrade your firmware, you must download and execute the "FWR134.exe" with your Sierra Wireless AirCard 510 inserted in your notebook PCMCIA slot.

**Note: The firmware must be upgraded on a laptop. There is no application that will allow the firmware for the AirCard 510 to be upgraded under the Pocket PC Operating System.

STEP 3 - Software for the Pocket PC is required

The matrix below lists the tested ROM version and corresponding Watcher version.
