In our continuing efforts to provide best in class products, Sierra Wireless is announcing the end-of-life of the AirLink™ PinPoint-E V3315 series of CDMA modems for the following carriers: Alltel, Telus, and Bell Mobility (Note – Verizon and Sprint were EOL in July of 2007). The AirLink PinPoint X line of intelligent wireless gateways has been designed to replace the PinPoint-E product line.

The specific SKUs affected by this notice and their respective replacements are:

For all affected models:

• Purchase orders will be accepted until August 31, 2008
• Last shipments will be December 31, 2008

Sierra Wireless will provide existing PinPoint-E series customers with technical support on a reasonable commercial basis until December 31, 2011. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is no longer available.

Customers wishing to extend the life of an application that has integrated the PinPoint-E V3315 series modems may procure sufficient quantity of the product before the last purchase date to support projected future needs.

Customers can also migrate to the new PinPoint X wireless gateways. The PinPoint X include all of the functionality of the PinPoint-E and adds several significant improvements. Utilizing a new, more powerful processor, the PinPoint X is sleeker, smarter and even more robust than the PinPoint-E. The PinPoint X also includes a USB Type B interface, increasing connection options and enabling direct access to the core radio module for improved diagnostics and troubleshooting.
