Hayward, CA – March 10, 2005 – Maintaining its industry leadership and early-to-market advantage in the industrial wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) market, AirLink Communications, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of fixed and mobile wireless data solutions, today announced that it will unveil its first wireless data solutions for EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) networks at CTIA Wireless 2005 in New Orleans. Equipped with the MC75 quadband EDGE module from Siemens, AirLink’s new mobile wireless platforms will be compatible with all existing GSM/GPRS frequencies worldwide. A subset of the new EDGE products will be shown at both AirLink’s booth #5522 and Siemens’ booth #5245 at CTIA with initial product releases scheduled for mid-2005.

AirLink’s quadband EDGE products will enable enterprise and industrial customers to ubiquitously monitor and control fixed and mobile assets in real time. The products will include a variety of connectivity options for maximum flexibility and functionality, allowing customers to capitalize on the value of wireless data and quickly realize the exceptional return on investment that comes with pervasive connectivity. The company’s suite of integrated wireless hardware and software solutions is currently utilized in several broad industry sectors, including utilities, infrastructure/government and mobile data.

EDGE is a high-speed wireless technology that offers enhanced data speeds to mobile devices with complete interoperability and backwards compatibility to existing GSM/GPRS networks. With download speeds of 100-130 kilobits per second (Kbps) and burst speeds up to 200 Kbps, EDGE technology is three times faster than GPRS and nearly twice the speed of CDMA 1x networks.
