Sierra Wireless Awards in 1999 and Prior 
Sierra Wireless named fastest growing company in B.C.

Sierra Wireless was recognized as Company of the Year for 1999 by the British Columbia Technology Industries Association.
In April 1999, David Sutcliffe, President and CEO of Sierra Wireless, was selected to Canada's Top 40 Under 40. The program was established to recognize the achievements of outstanding Canadians under the age of 40 in private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Sierra's first product, the PocketPlus, won the 1995 Mobile Insights Award for "Year's Best Two Way Wireless Modem", against competition from Motorola and Ericsson.
In 1997, the AirCard, a breakthrough PC Card wireless modem and the world's first Type II cellular radio, won the same industry award, this time for "Year's Best PC Card Product". This major category had competition from US Robotics and Xircom.
The AirCard also won Wireless for the Corporate User's 1997 "Top Product" Award and was a CTIA's Appy Award finalist for hardware applications.

Technology Institute Association of BC recognized Sierra Wireless for Product of the Year in 1997- AirCard.
